The HEI-contracted Ecuador 500KV Transmission Line project system A Section C1C2 is a 230kV electric transmission line totaling 156km in length from Sopladora to Today to Taura. Electricity was successfully and formally transmitted on June 26, 2016 local time. This is yet another important milestone following the formal commissioning of the B system INGA transformer substation on January 28, as well as the formal commissioning of the B system San Rafael transformer substation and the A7 circuit on March 5.
The Ecuador 500kV Ultra High Pressure Transmission Line Project consists of a EPC contract and a 500kV Transmission System O&M contract signed between HEI and Ecuador’s National Electric Company (CELEC EP). The work scope includes the feasibility research, design, material supply, construction, testing and commissioning, as well as the O&M service of a 500kV ultra high voltage system. The total project duration is 1,185 days. From July 26, 2013, when the Ecuador 500kV Transmission Line project contract came into force, HEI formulated a work plan in a scientific manner according to the owner’s requirements and took the initiative to organize people to overcome difficulties including high technology standards, the variable climate and the complicated work plane, and guaranteed the timely completion of Subsystem A, making great contributions to the power transmission capabilities of Ecuador’s important project, the Sopladora hydroelectric power plant.
