On August 31st, 2016, the Pakistani owner and the supervision company NESPAK awarded a DLC certificate for the No. 1 gas turbine of the Guddu 747 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project contracted by HEI, which marks the official transfer of the project. At this point, both of the gas turbine of the Guddu Project have received DLC certificates, and the project is striving for a factory DLC certificate.

The Guddu Project is the biggest EPC turnkey project undertaken by HEI in Pakistan, and the first 9F combined cycle power plant project undertaken by a Chinese company in the form of EPC overseas. It has a total installed capacity of 747 MW, and its main engine is comprised of two 9F gas turbine and one steam turbine. The opening ceremony of the project was launched after power transmission, where Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attended and gave a high appraisal to it. He said the project was completed seven months in advance and saved Pakistan Government nearly 500 million dollars. The project not only deepened China-Pakistan friendship but also provided impetus for Pakistan’s economic development.

Upon transfer to the owner after reliability operation and performance tests, the Guddu Project will enter its warranty period. HEI completed the overhaul of the No. 1 and No. 2 gas turbine and steam turbine on May 6th, 2016, and they were subsequently used for grid-connected power generation after restarting without any problem. At present, HEI is sparing no effort to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power plant, and receive a factory DLC certificate as soon as possible.
