On May 25, 2017, the Dubai Hassyan 4×600MW clean coal-fired power station invested and contracted by HEI held a ceremony for the commencement of its erection work of the whole plant, witnessing the smooth hoisting of the first piece of steel structure for the boiler. Guo Yu, Chairman of the Board of HEI, Fu Xiujun, Executive Director of Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. and Mr. Patxi, Executive President of the project owner, were present giving consecutive speeches at the ceremony.

Guo Yu pointed out in his speech that the smooth commencement of the erection work of the Hassyan Project marked the entire project entering the next stage and that the realization of such an important milestone was attributed to the joint efforts of all participating parties, including the Northeast Electric Power Design Institute, China State Construction and Tianjin Electric Power Construction, as well as HEI’s project team, powerfully guaranteeing the smooth advancement of the project on schedule while demonstrating China’s power at the same time.

Chairman Guo expressed that the Hassyan Project attracted a large amount of attention as a key exhibit at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation which ended a few days ago in Beijing, further indicating the major strategic significance of the project.

Guo also encouraged HEI’s project team and all those participating parties to make full use of the good commencement and to do their utmost to guarantee the smooth execution of the project.

Fu Xiujun thanked HEI for its long-term help and support to Tianjin Electric Power Construction, expressing that both parties have successfully cooperated in numerous projects in the past and that he expects the Hassyan Project to attain an even greater level of achievement. Director Fu promises to utilize more important and excellent resources on the Hassyan Project, carefully plan and strengthen management to complete the project as contracted, and to accomplish all these tasks with a high level of quality and without any accidents, so as to be worthy of the trust of HEI for a long time.

Mr. Patxi stated that the Hassyan Project is a project for the livelihood of the people of Dubai. Its main purpose is the great undertaking of guaranteeing power supply security, cutting down power costs and improving the quality of life of the local residents in Dubai.

Mr. Patxi required the project execution teams to attach importance to safety in the construction of the project while focusing on quality in the completion of the project.

Other leaders including HEI Chief Project Officer Xu Hongfu, GE Project Director Mr. Brisson and the project host company Hassyan Energy were present at the ceremony.
