Following the successful one-time synchronization for power generation of Unit 1 and Unit 2 of the 4X12MW Steam Turbine Generator Unit Expansion Project for the captive power plant of the Mongolian Erdenet Copper Mine contracted by HEI on October 26, 2017 (the local time of Mongolia), Unit 3 and Unit 4 were successfully synchronized by the operators of the owner trained by HEI for power generation respectively at 10:10 and 12:05 on October 28, 2017, witnessed jointly by the owner and the Mongolian national electric power technology acceptance board. They were successfully synchronized at one time. So far, all the four units of the project have been successfully synchronized for power generation.

The construction of the Mongolian Erdenet Project officially started on May 18, 2016. All the civil works, installation and commissioning were completed and the units could be synchronized for power generation on August 24, 2017. However, the owner did not get the synchronization permit. Recently, the owner has got the synchronization permit from the Mongolian power authority after HEI and the owner jointly made efforts for it. With the unremitting efforts of the HEI international project team, all the units have been successfully synchronized for power generation and the power plant has been able to produce commercial electric power, which has indicated that the project has suddenly become the third largest power plant in Mongolia and a shining pearl in the China-Mongolia- Russia Economic Corridor.
