On October 23, 2017, the commencement ceremony of the steel structure installation of Dubai’s Hassyan 4x600MW Clean Coal-fired Project contracted by HEI was held. Leaders such as chairman of HEI Mr. Guo Yu, General Manager of the North Region of China Construction Steel Structure Co., Ltd（CCSSC）. Mr. Yan Rengjing and Executive Managing Director of Hassyan Energy Corporation Mr. Patxi Saez attended the ceremony and delivered their speeches.

The Hassyan project in Dubai is the first overseas investment plus EPC project of HEI after HEI successfully entered the Middle East market and the first clean coal-fired power plant in the Middle East. It is also a successful exemplary demonstration of implementing the national Belt and Road Initiative, realizing the going global of Chinese enterprises strategy and adopting a new model for international production capacity integration. It has been planned that the first unit of the project will be put into commercial operation in March 2020 and the project will provide electric power guarantee for the World Expo held in Dubai in 2020. The Hassyan Power Plant will be the first environment-friendly coal-fired power plant using clean coal combustion technology in the Middle East.

The Hassyan project in Dubai is the first cooperation project of CCSSC and HEI.CCSSC has expressed its confidence in the success of the project, its overcoming all the possible difficulties, and ensure the construction safety and its high-level performance. The ACWA, a partner of HEI, also hoped to build Dubai’s Hassyan project into a demonstration project with the first-rated safety level so that it could provide higher life quality for the Dubai people.

Chief Project Officer of HEI Mr. Xu Hong issued his steel structure installation order, marking the official commencement of the steel structure installation of the Hassyan 4x600MW clean coal-fired project.
