At 18:05 on February 10, 2018, local time in Pakistan, the steam turbine units of the Pakistani Balloki 1223MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project contracted by HEI was successfully synchronized in the first attempt, which has been witnessed by the employer and supervisors. Then, the three units of the Balloki Project were all synchronized for power generation and entered into the Test after Completion stage.

The Balloki Project is an EPC contract of a 9H combined cycle power plant project concluded by HEI on November 2, 2015. With a total installed capacity of 1223MW, the project, as a complete EPC turn-key project, has adopted Model 9HA gas turbines of GE Company. The whole power plant has two 9HA gas turbines, two waste heat boilers and a steam turbine unit. It took only 66 days from the installation to the successful ignition of Gas Turbine 1 of the Balloki Project, 74 days from the installation to the synchronization, 16 days from the inverse power transmission to the successful ignition and 24 days from the inverse power transmission to the synchronization, all breaking world records set by the gas turbine combined cycle power plant projects at the same level.

Following setting new records in the speed of the installation and commissioning of 9H gas turbines, with the well-organized and planning by HEI and joint efforts of Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd., Harbin Huitong Electric Engineering Co., Ltd., GE Company and other participation units, the Balloki Project team has successfully completed the installation and pre-commissioning of the waste heat boilers and steam turbine units by overcoming various difficulties such as high project execution standards, strict supervisor requirements and unfavorable safety conditions, and their work has been highly praised by the project owner.
