At 12:00 on February 1, 2018, local time in Bangladesh, the Barapukuria 275MW Coal-fired Thermal Power Project with the units made by HE successfully passed the 42-day reliability test. The project was contracted by HEI and it is a coal-fired thermal power project with the largest total installed capacity so far in Bangladesh.
On November 10, 2017, the Barapukuria Project was successfully synchronized for power generation at one go, nearly half a year ahead of schedule, thus greatly easing the power shortage in Bangladesh. At 12:00 on December 21, 2017, the Baku Project was officially put into the 42-day reliability operation. By far, the project has continuously run for 1,008 hours, during which the units run well in accordance with power grid dispatching, with an average gross output of 272MW and a total generating capacity of 274 million kWh. HE is highly praised by the owner for good operation of the units made by HE.
The Barapukuria Project is the first coal power project that HEI has signed with Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) following the Tonggi Gas Project and the Sylhet Gas Project. The scope of the contract includes the design, procurement, supply, civil works, installation, testing and 5-year services. The project is located in northwestern Bangladesh, about 400km from the capital Dhaka. The three main machines are manufactured by HE and the auxiliary machines are also manufactured and provided by Chinese manufacturers, so that it is a typical project of “Made by China” and “Built by China”. The Baku Project not only has great significance for power development in Bangladesh, but also plays a leading role in helping Chinese enterprises to go out.
Recently, good news on good operation of the HE-made main units in the overseas projects contracted by HEI keeps pouring in. “Made by HE” has further increased its efforts in the overseas markets and “HE Brand” has been becoming more and more influential in the world. Every quality project marked with “Made by HE” in the overseas markets highlights the responsibilities and duties of Chinese enterprises to “make Chinese power lead the world”, and helps HE compose a new chapter of “starting a new undertaking and striving to be a first-class and world-renowned enterprise”.
