The Ecuadorian Minas Hydropower Plant Project contracted by HEI has aroused high attention of the Ecuadorian Government and local media since the dam impounding began on December 3, 2017 local time. Accompanied by General Manager of CELEC Mr. Francisco Vergara and CELEC Jubones Branch Manager Mr. Fabricio Zambrano, Mr. Edisson Garzón, an official of the Ecuadorian Government and Chairman of Public Enterprise Coordination Corporation, attended the dam impounding ceremony of the Minas Hydropower Plant Project held by the owner at 13:00 on January 12, 2018 and paid a visit to the project site.

At the ceremony, Mr. Edisson Garzón and CELEC leaders delivered speeches, in which they fully affirmed the Sino-Ecuadorian cooperation and appreciated HEI’s contributions to the electric power development in Ecuador.

The Minas Hydropower Plant Project contracted by HEI is the third largest hydropower plant in Ecuador. The dam impounding, as a key milestone of the Minas project, is significant to the construction of the project as a whole. At present, the dam impounding of the Minas Hydropower Plant Project is in steady progress, and the Project Department of HEI is following up the construction progress in strict accordance with the construction plan and moving towards the discharge target of the units roundly, so as to successfully complete the project construction as early as possible.
