Balloki 1,223MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Pakistan Undertaken by HEI Successfully Puts into Commercial Operation

At midnight, July 29, 2018, local time of Pakistan, the Balloki 1,223MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, Pakistan Undertaken by HEI was successfully put into commercial operation date (COD).

The Balloki Project is a combined cycle power plant project with total installed capacity of 1,223MW consisting of two 9HA.01 heavy-duty gas turbines manufactured by GE, two HRSGs and one steam turbine generator unit, under the EPC contract signed by HEI and came into effect on November 2, 2015. The project is located about 80km to the southwest of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. As of July 26, 2018, the project had successively and successfully passed 168h combined cycle reliability trial run and combined cycle fuel and gas performance test, and the performance indicators of all tests on completion under the EPC contract meet the requirement of the guaranteed values specified in the contract.

The successful operation of the Balloki Project in Pakistan effectively alleviates the shortage of power in Pakistan, significantly improving the local livelihood, and promotes the local social and economic development which plays a significant role in deepening the friendship and consolidating the relations between China and Pakistan.
