On August 9 and 13, 2018, the Balloki 1,223MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project and Bhikki 1,180 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project undertaken by HEI in Pakistan were officially granted the TOC certificates by the Employer. As of now, work at the construction stage of these two power plant projects has been successfully completed and the projects officially entered the warranty period on July 27 and May 20, 2018 respectively.
Both Bhikki and Balloki Projects in Pakistan adopt the configuration of “2+2+1”, i.e. two 9HA.01 heavy-duty gas turbines, two HRSGs and one steam turbine generator unit, and are complete turnkey projects. Among them, the Bhikki Project adopts the Class H dual-fuel heavy-duty gas turbine which is the first in the world put into commercial operation and the Balloki Project sets a record in the world for the shortest installation and commissioning period from mobilization of the main Class H gas turbine unit to connection to grid for power generation. These two projects further consolidate the advantageous status of HEI in the field of the combined cycle power plant in Pakistan.
The successful handover for production of Bhikki and Balloki Projects in Pakistan effectively alleviates the shortage of power in Punjab, Pakistan, significantly improving the local livelihood, and promotes the local social and economic development, perfectly interpreting the evolution of Made in China, China Speed and China Quality, which creates a good demonstration effect for the implementation of the he Belt and Road Initiative and plays an active role in deepening the friendship and consolidating the relations between China and Pakistan.
