On December 25, 2018, Erdenet Mining Corporation TPP expansion with installation of 4 turbo-generators with a total capacity 48MW turnkey conditions in Mongolia undertaken by HEI was awarded the final acceptance certificate by the Owner.

As the first thermal power project developed and executed by HEI in Mongolia, it is a representative project to actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative and jointly build the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, representing “Designed by China, Made in China and Built by China”. Commenced on May 18, 2016, the project featured short project duration, long winter and local resource shortage, but HEI overcame these difficulties and successfully completed the construction within the contract period. The power plant became the third largest power plant in Mongolia upon completion, and was widely recognized by the Owner and all walks of life in Mongolia. It was awarded the 2017 National Quality Project Award of Mongolia and the Excellent Building Design Award from the Ministry of Construction of Mongolia.

In the warranty period, the Project Team of HEI helped the Owner to establish a work permit system for the on-site inspection during the warranty period, and cooperated with the Owner to conduct daily on-site inspection and submitted suggestions on operation and maintenance in writing, so as to help the Owner to discover and deal with potential risks of safe operation in a timely manner, standardize the operation and maintenance, and quickly accumulate operational experience. Meanwhile, the Project Team held regular meetings with the Owner on the basis of ensuring safe and stable equipment operation, to listen to the Owner's demands, answer the Owner's questions, solve practical problems, and help the Owner to successfully complete the annual power generation plan in 2018 and achieve an excess of 2.5%, thus improving the operating efficiency of the power plant.

The final completion of the project represents that the EPC strength of HEI has been recognized by the power market in Mongolia, establishes a good corporate image for HEI in Mongolia, and further enhances the competitiveness of HEI in the power market in Mongolia.
