At the outset of Harbin Electric International (HEI)'s Nairyah 2 project in Saudi Arabia, mobile signal coverage at the project site and surrounding areas was weak, hampering both project management and communication efficiency while also degrading the network experience of nearby residents. To improve connectivity across the region, the project team proactively engaged the Saudi telecommunications operator STC in multiple rounds of discussions, providing key data, such as geographic coordinates and user volume, to help evaluate the feasibility of expanding network coverage in the area.

Following thorough consultations and an on-site survey, STC invested in and commissioned a new mobile base station near the project site in May 2025. The installation not only addressed the project’s communication and emergency liaison needs, ensuring seamless construction coordination and staff connectivity, but also significantly improved mobile signal quality for surrounding communities, giving local residents access to reliable network services. By organically aligning the company’s operational requirements with the development needs of the community, and by catalyzing third-party investment, this initiative delivered a tangible upgrade to regional telecommunications infrastructure, reflecting HEI's commitment to fostering community development through constructive collaboration.
