Recently, the gas turbine unit 2 of the Syrdarya II 1600MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, undertaken by Harbin Electric International Company Limited (HEI), achieved the first grid connection on the first attempt. All operating parameters of the unit were stable and met standards, and the system status was good. This is another major milestone for the project following the first ignition of the gas turbine unit 2 on March 23, pressing the “accelerator” for the full commissioning and power generation of the largest combined cycle power plant under construction in Central Asia, and adding a brilliant stroke to HEI’s successful start in the first quarter of 2026.

The HEI Central and North Asia Regional Headquarters resolutely implemented the Harbin Electric Corporation’s strategic deployment of “ensuring the fulfillment of international projects”. Through scientific planning and multi-party coordination, and building on the successful grid connection of the gas turbine unit 1, the team continued its operations, efficiently advancing the installation, commissioning, and system joint debugging of the gas turbine unit 2. All personnel involved in the construction overcame various technical challenges with their expertise and efficient management, ultimately achieving the successful first-time grid connection of the gas turbine unit 2. During this process, all key parameters of the unit remained stable and under control, and the auxiliary systems operated stably and reliably, fully showcasing HEI’s full-chain service capabilities and top-tier technical prowess in the EPC general contracting of large-scale combined cycle power plants.
