The hot desert winds of Saudi Arabia mingled with the laughter of Chinese workers, and the snow-covered fields of Uzbekistan were illuminated by the warm glow of red Chinese lanterns... Engineers and technicians from Harbin Electric International Company Limited (HEI) celebrated the Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse in their own unique ways. The reporter learned from HEI that during the Spring Festival of the Bingwu Year of the Horse, engineers and technicians who remained on the front lines of overseas construction at various project sites celebrated by putting up Spring Festival couplets, hanging lanterns, making dumplings, and playing games. Through these joyful activities, they shared the warmth of Chinese culture and brought the rich flavors of a traditional Chinese New Year to foreign lands.

In the container houses of the Hassyan project in Dubai, Chinese and foreign employees sat in a circle making dumplings together. At the Syrdarya II project site in Uzbekistan, Chinese and Uzbek employees worked together to hang lanterns. At the Tarbela project in Pakistan, the New Year's Eve dinner table featured both curry chicken and Guo Bao Rou (double-cooked pork slices). The rendition of “Unforgettable Tonight” by engineers at the PM6 paperboard mill in Turkey intertwined with the Turkish folk song “My Dark Eyes,” echoing through the factory... They gathered strength through their dedication and celebrated the 2026 Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse in a festive and harmonious atmosphere.
