At 23:15 local time on February 13 in Uzbekistan, the gas turbine unit 1 of the Syrdarya II 1600MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, undertaken by Harbin Electric International Company Limited (HEI), achieved the first grid connection on the first attempt, with all operating parameters stable and up to standard.

As the largest combined cycle power plant project in Central Asia, the Syrdarya II project has faced multiple challenges since its inception, including long transportation cycles, tight construction schedules, frequent high temperatures, rain, snow, and strong winds, as well as winter construction. This winter, it encountered the added challenge of a tight natural gas supply in Uzbekistan. Overcoming these difficulties and through extensive coordination, the project team successfully achieved the first grid connection of gas turbine unit 1 on February 13. Meanwhile, two other important milestones were completed successively: the low-speed turning gear test for the gas turbine unit 2 and the acid pickling of all high, medium, and low-pressure systems for the heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) #1 and #2.
