On July 30, 2017, President Qu Aimin of HEI visited the Bhikki and Balloki Project sites for inspection and guidance of the work. Qu made a deep investigation into the overall project progresses and the operation of gas turbines at the two project sites. He also inspected the overall steam turbine installation progress and heard the technical analyses from the project department personnel on the Alstom steam turbine performance and the domestically made steam turbine performance.

Qu pointed out after the investigation that, the two projects are of strategic significance to HEI in Pakistan power market. Timely completion of the two projects will further consolidate the leading role of HEI in Pakistan power market and lay a solid foundation for in-depth development of new projects in Pakistan.

Qu expected all staff of the First Thermal Power Division to make continuous efforts to achieve the targets of combined-cycle power generation for the two projects on schedule. He emphasized that both projects have achieved the stage goal — the single-cycle power generation goal , and now it is the time for both projects to enter its home stretch — to achieve the combined-cycle power generation goal. The project department should as always, conduct strict quality control procedure, to better serve the owner by following the principle of quality priority.

Qu also required the First Thermal Power Division to strictly supervise work safety and take special measures to prevent workers in extremely hot working environment from heatstroke. Efforts should be made to eliminate safety accidents and ensure smooth completion.
