On the morning of July 19, 2017, Mr. Xing Haiming the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Mongolia, Mr. Sun Weiren the commercial counselor, Ms. Li Wei the cultural counselor, Mr. Li Yanjun the political counselor and some other officials, accompanied by Mr. Batjargal Vice Governor of Orkhon Province, Mr. Badamsuren President of the Erdenet Copper Mine Thermal Power Plant and some other Mongolian leaders, visited the site of the 4x12MW Steam Turbine Generator Unit Expansion Project of the Mongolian Erdenet Copper Mine Thermal Power Plant and comforted the Chinese workers at the site.,.

The Extension Project of the Mongolian Erdenet Copper Mine Thermal Power Plant is an EPC project signed between the Mongolian Erdenet Mining Group and Harbin Electric International (HEI) on September 7, 2015. The project was officially commenced on May 7, 2016. So far, the project design and equipment procurement have been completed, moreover, 93.6% of the construction, 56.3% of the commissioning and 95.1% of the overall project schedule have been completed and the ending stage has commenced.

On the report meeting, Mr. Lv Hua Project Director of HEI and President of the Fifth Thermal Power Division and Mr. Song Hailong Vice President of the Fifth Thermal Power Division reported detailed construction situation of the Erdenet Project at the meeting. Mr. Badamsuren described the significance of the project to the copper mine development, expressed his satisfaction with the project site management work of HEI such as the project quality, progress, safety, occupational health and environment impact and expressed that he would fully support the project construction to ensure the smooth completion of the project.

Ambassador Mr. Xing Haiming highly evaluated the quality, progress and management level of the Erdenet Project and asked about the detailed information on the project work of the Chinese enterprises in Mongolia. Mr. Xing Haiming pointed out that, Harbin Electric Corporation, as a stated-owned enterprise is an excellent enterprise in China and even in the world. Chinese government hoped that HEI and the Erdenet Mining Group would continue to sincerely cooperate, to ensure that the ending work goes well, and smoothly complete the project taking over, bringing benefits to the local people.

Mr. Xing Haiming emphasized that practice is the sole criterion for verifying truth and the Erdenet Project contracted by HEI had laid a solid foundation for the development of Chinese enterprises in Mongolia and set a sample project. He hoped that HEI would take this as a starting point and enable Chinese enterprises to undertake more and better projects in Mongolia. He also expected that Erdenet Copper Mine Group and the government of Erdenet would fully support the smooth completion and taking over of the whole project.

Mr. Xing Haiming said that China and Mongolia are good neighbors sharing a long land border and they are always neighbors, neither of which can move away. The Chinese side always pays high attention to the relationship between China and Mongolia. Since President Xi visited Mongolia in 2014, the relationship and cooperation in various fields between the two countries have further developed. He said he hoped the two countries would continue to pragmatically cooperate, solidifying the good relationship between China and Mongolia and developing the friendship between the two countries.
