May 15, 2017, HEI Chairman Guo Yu met and held discussions with the Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif during the “Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation” in Beijing.

Shahbaz Sharif paid great heed to the Bhikki and Balloki projects undertaken by HEI in Punjab. Sharif inquired about the progress of the two projects. Guo reported that two gas turbines of the Bhikki Project contracted by HEI had been synchronized for commissioning and the No. 1 gas turbine of the Balloki Project was expected to be ignited in June.

Shahbaz Sharif expressed his appreciation for HEI’s contributions to power construction in Pakistan as well as his satisfaction with the progress of two projects. He hopes that HEI’s project teams will make persistent efforts to allow the two projects to produce power as soon as possible.

Guo said, under the leadership of the distinguished Chief Minister, 5000 MW of electricity would be available in Punjab this year, greatly alleviating electricity pressures. HEI would satisfy customers with quality products and efficient services to contribute to the electric industry of Pakistan.

Guo also discussed with Shahbaz Sharif plans for subsequent power projects in Pakistan, ensuring that HEI would continue to construct more quality power plants in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab.
