On May 16, 2017, a media delegation from Uzbekistan consisting of Mr. Ostonov Safar, Editor-in-Chief of the Voice of Uzbekistan, Mr. Toshevo, Editor-in-Chief of Samarkand Courier, Mr. Obbittov Chairman of Fergana Province Branch of Uzbekistan Journalist Association, Ms. Toshpulatova Professor and Dean of the Department of International Journalism of Uzbekistan State Language University, and Ms. Toshmatov Dean of the Department of Economics of Margilan Normal College of Uzbekistan paid a visit to HEI for a special interview about the Angren 1×150MW Coal Fired Thermal Power Plant EPC Project undertaken by HEI, a China-Uzbekistan landmark project along the “Belt and Road”. Mr. Dong Yinzhu Vice President of HEI, Mr. Zhuang Honggang Executive Director of HEI’s 5th Thermal Power Division and relevant personnel from the construction team of the Angren Project received the interview.
In the interview, Mr. Dong Yinzhu introduced the development and technical strength of HEI and the significance of the Angren Project to the delegation. He pointed out that Angren Power Plant was HEI’s first high-efficient, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly power station project with circulating fluidized bed boiler technology in Uzbekistan. The project was put into operation four months ahead of schedule and it had been running well, laying a solid foundation for deep cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in the field of energy. Dong also introduced the visit paid by Uzbekistan President to Angren Power Plant in September 2016 and his high praise of HEI’s project construction. In addition, Mr. Dong presented the progress of the cooperation in the Angren Phase II Project.
Mr. Zhuang Honggang made a detailed description of the important nodes of the Angren Project, ranging from the project negotiations to the construction and synchronization, as well as its contributions to local employment and public welfare.
The delegation interviewed HEI in detail about the treatment of local low-grade coal combustion pollution, the training of the Angren Power Plant workers, etc.
The delegation said that following the visit paid by Uzbekistan President to China, the two countries signed a lot of cooperation documents, the cooperation between the two countries would become closer and the cooperation in the power sector would improve. At present, there are many power construction projects in Uzbekistan. The electric power generated by Angren Power Plant ahead of schedule has greatly relieved the power shortage in Uzbekistan and the two countries have been expected to have more cooperation in the power sector. The media of Uzbekistan will surely actively introduce Harbin Electric Corporation and HEI to the public and promote the further development of the China-Uzbekistan cooperation related to the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
The Uzbekistan media delegation also visited the exhibition hall of Harbin Electric Corporation and obtained an in-depth understanding of the history, state of art technologies, etc. of Harbin Electric Corporation.
