The World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in October 2016, aims at promoting transformation towards green energy and green economy and fulfilling 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement through operations of relevant platforms under it.

In the press conference, the WGEO Chairman Mr. Al Tayer announced the launch of its Financing Platform and emphatically introduced the operating mechanism of the platform, its functions and how to realize its objectives. Mr. Al Tayer expects that government agencies concerned, research institutes, financial institutions and industrial enterprises in China can support the promotion of green energy application and transformation towards green economy by taking the opportunity of the development and construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

In the meeting with Mr. Al Tayer, Guo briefed the progress of the construction of the underway Hassyan Clean Coal Power Station Project, Dubai and made a detailed report on HEI’s efforts in the project in respect of low emission, environmental protection and biodiversity. Guo said that HEI would fully support the operation of the WGEO. Mr. Al Tayer also invited Guo to attend Global Green Business Summit to be held on October 24 and 25, 2017.
