HEI-Contracted Pakistani Guddu 747-MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Successfully Achieves Ignition and Synchronization of Gas Turbine Unit 2

The HEI-contracted Pakistani Guddu 747-MW Combined Cycle Power Plant successfully achieved ignition of gas turbine Unit 2 on March 31, 2014, and connected to the grid on April 7, 2014. At this point, the two gas turbine units of the Pakistani Guddu Project have achieved all objectives of synchronization and generation.

The achievement of the Guddu Project gas turbine Unit 2’s ignition and synchronization is another key milestone following the ignition and synchronization of Unit 1, and is another major step in marching forward toward overall combined cycle power generation. At present, the staff at the Guddu Project site is working at an all-out sprint to accomplish the objective of combined cycle power generation as quickly and effectively as possible.
