On September 5th, 2015, Ecuador Business reported the Ecuadorian Minister of Strategic Coordination and Minister of Electricity’s visiting to the site of Harbin Electric International (HEI)’s 500KV Transmission Line Project on September 4th, 2015, and released the lastest progress of the said project."
One of the support facilities for the Anne Sinclair Hydropower Station, the largest hydropower project currently under construction in Latin America, this project is being built by Harbin Electric International Co., Ltd. This project is contracted by HEI and is a supporting project for the Anne Sinclair Hydropower Station which is the largest hydropower project in progress in Latin America. To date, 90% of the first stage workload has been completed and the project is expected to close out several months before by the end of this year. E, and electricity generated from the Anne Sinclair Hydropower Station will be delivered through the transmission lines built by HEI to Quito and the Northern provinces. In the second stage, transmission lines will extend to Guayaquil and the southern provinces and the entire project is expected to be completed by October 2016.
Ecuador is actively changing its energy structure and vigorously promoting the vigorous generation of clean energy. Eight important hydropower stations are currently under construction in the country including the Anne Sinclair Hydropower Station which possesses the largest capacity yet reached: of 1500MW. In fact, the maximum pressure of Ecuador’s existing urban transmission lines is only 230KV, insufficient to which cannot meet the future demand for electric power transmission, so the government is positively promoting the construction of 500KV high voltage transmission lines.
