April 16, 2017 17:23 local time in Bangladesh, the HEI-contracted Bangladesh Baku 275MW Coal-fired Thermal Power Phase II Expansion Project successfully achieved back-feeding power transmission from the grid in one go. The energization scope included the 230KV switching station, standby transformer and 6KV panel-cabinet bus. It passed another milestone after its successful chemical water production and boiler hydraulic test, thus moving the Baku Project into the section trial operation stage and providing strong reassurance for the unit’s commissioning and synchronization in the later stages.

Before being energized, HEI’s Baku Project Office carried out a thorough inspection against facility safety hazards, protections and control system logic unit used for inverse power transmission together with the commissioning institute and construction and operation subcontractors. When being energized, operators strictly followed the rules for inverse power transmission operation, inspection, record-keeping and acceptance. Each system device was in good condition, with DCS signals and screen prompts accurately displaying without any faults.
