On July 19, at 19:28 Dubai local time, Unit #1 of the Dubai Hassyan 4x600MW Clean Coal-fired Power Plant Project, contracted by HEI, successfully achieved the target of coal-fired power generation at full-load under normal parameters, with stable equipment operation and excellent operational performance.
As a major project under the Belt and Road Initiative, and it is also the first clean coal-fired power plant in the Middle East. Unit #1 of the Hassyan Project successfully achieved the target of coal-fired power generation at full load through the project team’s continuous efforts following the realization of gas-fired at full-load power generation on June 30. It demonstrated that the Hassyan Project, as the world's first dual-fuel unit, has the capacity for burning both natural gas and coal at full load . So far, the Hassyan Project has become the world's first power plant project to realize dual-fuel full-load power supply. Equipped with four 600MW (net output) ultra-supercritical units, the Hassyan Project has the ability to reach 100% output with both coal and natural gas, improving the power plant's adaptability to different fuel types. What’s more, its ultra-supercritical power generation technology provides the most efficient power generation and output among similar units. Once the project is in operation, it will not only provide an additional 20% of Dubai’s electricity, but also greatly reduce local residents’ electricity bills.
