On July 15, 2014, Mr. Taner Yildiz, the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources sent a letter of gratitude to HEI with respects to HEI’s support and help after the Turkish Soma Coal Mine Explosion on May 13th, 2014.
On May 13, 2014, a coal mine explosion occurred in Soma Region in the Manisa Province of Western Turkey. It caused more than 200 deaths, and dozens were injured. HEI immediately sent a letter of condolence to Mr. Taner Yildiz, expressing HEI’s deepest and heartfelt condolences to the victims and families of those missing and lost, as well as the company’s willingness to provide all possible necessary disaster relief help and support.
