On September 7th, 2015, Harbin Electric International (HEI) and the Mongolian Erdenet Mining Corporation held a signing ceremony in Ulaanbaatar for the Erdenet Mining Power Plant Expansion Project. Vice President of HEI Mr. Qu Aimin and General Director of the Mongolian Erdenet Mining Corporation Mr. Davaatseren Tserevsamba signed the contract on behalf of their respective parties. CMO of HEI Mr. Ge Xin and General Manager of the Dalian Electric Power Survey & Design Institute Company Limited Mr. Li Keli were present at the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Mr. Qu Aimin expressed his wholehearted appreciation for the assistance, support and trust of the Mongolian Ministry of Electricity, the Economic and Commercial Department of the Foreign Ministry of China to Mongolia and the Erdenet Mining Corporation. He also noted that HEI will cherish this cooperation, providing state-of-the-art design, first-class services and top quality.

General Director Mr. Davaatseren Tserevsamba spoke highly of HEI’s strength and capability, thanked its team for all its efforts and contributions to the successful signing of the project and expressed his hopes that both parties will take the opportunity of this project to comprehensively initiate bilateral strategic cooperation so as to jointly make contributions to the power development of Mongolia and the economic cooperation of both countries.

Located about 330 km northwest of Ulaanbaatar, this project consists of 4 12MW turbine generators and the associated BOP. Its successful signing demonstrates that HEI has been fully recognized by the Mongolian Developer, helping to lay a solid foundation for the development of the Mongolian power market.
