HEI Successfully Signs Contract for Turkey Soma 2X255MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project

On December 5, 2013, Harbin Electric International Co. Ltd (HEI) and Turkey’s HIDRO-GEN Enerji Ithalat Ihracat Dagitim Ve Ticaret A.S. signed a contract for the Soma 2X255MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. The contract scope of the project includes the design of the whole plant, equipment procurement and transportation, installation guidance and commissioning etc. The construction schedule for the project is 39 months.

The owner of the Soma 2X255MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project is the Turkish company HİDRO-GEN Enerji İthalat İhracat Dağıtım ve Ticaret A.Ş., whose parent company is Kolin Construction, Tourism, Industr & Tranding Co. Ltd (“Kolin”). Kolin, which was founded in 1977, is a well-known Turkish amalgamated company, whose business scope includes property, roads, bridges, agricultural irrigation and tourism among other areas in many countries including Afghanistan, Jordan, Libya, Azerbaijan, Uganda and Serbia etc. The company has entered into the top 225 International Contractors list more than once. This project is the first cooperation project of HEI and Kolin and it is another achievement of HEI in the European power market since the implementation of the “global marketing, high-end targeting” development strategy, which plays a significant role in enhancing international brands of HEI in the international power market.
