Time:2017-01-18

On Jan. 10, 2017, Wang

Liping, Minister-Counselor of the

Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of China in Indonesia

and his company inspected Banten Project constructed by HEI and extended their regards to the personnel working

at the site for

long periods.

Mr. Li

Mo, Acting Director of HEI the

2nd Thermal Power Division gave a

comprehensive report to Minister-Counselor Wang on the execution of the Banten

Project on behalf of all

contractors. Wang Liping spoke highly of the

execution of Banten Project and hoped that the Project could demonstrate

"Chinese Efficiency" and "Chinese Speed" and could be

built into a benchmarking project of of Chinese enterprises in

Indonesia. Wang Liping also pointed out that China and Indonesia have entered into a

fast-tracked economic and trade cooperation wherein China remains the top

trading partner of Indonesia. All Chinese enterprises, if wanting to

successfully develop in the Indonesian market, must first understand

local political ecology. It is particularly the project managers who must study politics;

secondly, the enterprises must observe the laws and regulations of

Indonesia; thirdly, they must have long-term considerations for development and

make down-to-earth efforts in local areas to realize the following three

considerations in development, (a) from trade to investment, (b) from EPC to BOT,

and (c) from "Chinese Team, Chinese

Speed" to "Indonesian Team, Chinese Speed"; and fourth, uphold social

responsibility to the greatest extent possible, attaching importance to public

relations, making contributions to the local areas and developing lasting

friendships with the local residence.

Wang Liping emphasized that the striking problem that Chinese

enterprises currently

meet in Indonesia is the working visa for Chinese labors.

Many Chinese enterprises in Indonesia have been investigated by

local immigration authorities and several cases

of illegal labor service

have been reported. He emphasized that all sub-contractors of HEI

should attach high importance to the application

of working visa and adopt the proper measures to correctly handle any and

all related affairs.

Wang Liping was

accompanied by project

working personnel as

he toured the site of the Banten Project, climbing the 90+ meter high boiler

platform to look down at the panoramic view of the site and inquiring in detail about the construction progress in respect to turbine generator of main power house, , the central control room and coal unloading jetty.
