HEI Chairman of the Board Guo Yu Visits Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan

On Feb.

18, 2017, Guo Yu, Chairman of the Board and Party Secretary of HEI, paid a

visit to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab Province, Pakistan, and forwarded

him a letter from Si Zefu, Chairman of the Board and Party Secretary of HE Group (Harbin Electric Corporation). Mr. Shahbaz Sharif

thanked HEI for its lasting support in energy

development in Pakistan. He expressed that over the past few decades HEI had

provided Pakistan with many good quality

and high-efficient electric power equipment and made great contributions to

electric power development of Pakistan. Meanwhile, he sincerely invited Si Zefu

to pay a visit to Pakistan, anticipating extensive cooperation with HEI in more

fields.

During the

conversation, Chairman Guo expressed his thanks to Shahbaz Sharif for his great

support of HEI over the years. He also

reported on the progress of Bhikki and Balloki projects contracted by HEI in Punjab Province. First fire of the Bhikki Project’s Gas Turbine No. 1 was successfully

achieved on the 13rd of February and it will

be synchronized to the grid very

soon. Meanwhile the Balloki Project is progressing smoothly. HEI will surely satisfy customers’ requirements with its

quality products and efficient service, making contributions

to the economic development in Punjab Province and electric power undertaking

in Pakistan.

Shahbaz

Sharif expressed his thanks for HEI’s contributions to electric power

construction in Pakistan and he expressed his satisfaction with the progress of

the Bhikki and Balloki projects. He hopes that HEI’s project team could maintain their good progress and strive to put the plant projects into commercial operation ahead of

schedule.

Chairman

Guo also explored the future direction of energy development in Pakistan with

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, expressing that HEI would like to carry out deep

and extensive cooperation with Pakistan, particularly investments in hydropower

and new energy projects in Punjab Province. The chief minister thanked HEI for

its attention to and support of energy development in Pakistan and he expressed

that he hoped to cooperate with HEI in more fields.

Chairman Guo also visited

the site of the Bhikki Project to follow

up on the progress of the

project. He

heard the

work reports from the project person-in-charge, inquired about

the difficulties during construction, and sincerely

exchanged with the employees.

Guo encouraged all members to make concerted efforts to overcome

difficulties and guarantee

smooth execution of the

project.
