On January 11 (local time), Harbin Electric International’s (HEI) Saudi Arabia Nairyah 2 Project Department partnered with project owner Nawras and the MoT Nairyah to launch a targeted campaign promoting road safety and environmental improvement. Through practical measures such as installing traffic signs and clearing garbage along the road, the initiative has effectively optimized road conditions.

Municipal Highway 6465 serves as a critical transportation artery in the Nairyah region and the primary access route for personnel and vehicles to the Nairyah 2 project site during its construction. As traffic volumes have steadily increased, certain sections of the road have presented safety hazards due to inadequate or unclear signage. Taking these concerns seriously, the Project Department proactively collaborated with the local transport authority to identify solutions. Drawing on its strong organizational and execution capabilities, the Project Department carried out detailed on-site assessments and scientific planning for traffic signage. Working closely with the transport authority, the Project Department manufactured and installed multiple clear, high-visibility traffic signs and warning markers. These enhancements are designed to standardize driving behavior and significantly elevate overall road safety standards.

In parallel with the safety upgrades, the Nairyah 2 Project Department conducted a comprehensive roadside environmental cleanup. The Project Department members, together with local participants, systematically removed domestic waste, debris, and litter from both sides of the highway and surrounding areas. This effort not only improved the visual appeal of the roadway and its environs but also reduced potential ecological impacts, underscoring the project’s commitment to sustainable and green development.

The collaborative initiative has been highly commended by the MoT Nairyah and the local community, further building trust and strengthening ties between the Nairyah 2 Project Department and the regional government body. It also highlights the responsible, community-oriented, and environmentally conscious image of this Chinese state-owned enterprise. Looking ahead, while continuing to advance high-quality infrastructure development under the “hard connectivity” framework, the Nairyah 2 Project Department will actively pursue “soft connectivity” initiatives with local communities, making ongoing contributions to regional socio-economic progress and ecological protection.
