Harbin Electric International (HEI) has successfully completed the hoisting of the No. 2 generator stator for the innovation upgrade and life extension project of the 2×530MW units at Tianjin Guoneng Panshan Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the “Panshan Project”). This key achievement signals a full transition from civil construction to the critical equipment installation phase.

The No. 2 generator stator in the Panshan Project is the heaviest and largest core component of the generator, weighing 240 tons net, with a maximum width of 3.88 meters, a net height of 4.185 meters, and a net length of 8.49 meters. As a pivotal milestone in the installation sequence, the stator’s precise placement will significantly influence the overall project timeline, quality, safety, and subsequent tasks.

The Panshan Project represents China’s first (set of) major technological equipment demonstration initiative in the energy sector, incorporating advanced “three-reforms linkage” technologies for coal-fired power units, developed by Harbin Electric Corporation. In line with national energy strategies, the project supports China’s “dual carbon” goals (carbon peaking and neutrality) and fosters the coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The successful placement of the No. 2 generator stator provides a strong foundation for the smooth installation of the complete generator and the entire steam turbine generator set. It lays a solid groundwork for the project to achieve timely, high-quality, and safe commissioning.
