On September 15, 2011, a taking-over ceremony for Cam Pha Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant stage I & II was successfully held in Vietnam. The Cam Pha Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant Phase I & II was constructed by Harbin Electric International Co., Ltd (HEI) as a EPC contractor and the two phases were commissioned on 12.08.2010 and 15.05.2011 respectively. The each 300MW Units, including boiler supplied from Harbin Boiler Co., Ltd(HBC), turbine supplied from Harbin Turbine Co., Ltd(HTC) and generator supplied from Harbin Electric Machinery Co., Ltd (HEC) has got much more appreciation by client. President of Harbin Electric Corporation (HE) Mr. Zou Lei, president of HEI Mr. Guo Yu, vice president of HEI Mr. Dong Yinzhu and leaders of Northeast Electric Power Design Institute (NEPDI) and Guangdong Power Engineering Corp. (GPEC) etc. attended the ceremony.

As the representative of Owner, president of Cam Pha Thermal Power joint Stock Company (CPC) Mr. Pham Dac Lam confirmed HEI’s success on Cam Pha project and its contribution to the development of Vietnam electric industry. Project supervisor of HEI Mr. Su Haihong, as the representative of HEI, reviewed the history of Cam Pha project from contract signing to commercial operation. He said, through five years’hard working and unremitting efforts, HEI and Vietnam National Coal Mineral Industries Group (VINACOMIN) had finally completed the construction of Cam Pha project (stage I & II) successfully and set a monument of sincere cooperation and China-Vietnam friendship.

President of HE Mr. Zou Lei addressed the ceremony. He congratulated to the successful completion of Cam Pha project, showed his appreciation to related partners of China and Vietnam for their persistent help and support to HE and HEI and expressed his respect to the project-related personnel of both countries. Mr. Zou emphasized that through five years’sincere cooperation between VINACOMIN and HE, we saw a successful completion of Cam Pha project, which evidenced that the strategic cooperation between VINACOMIN and HE was extraordinarily effective. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Vietnamese government, VINACOMIN and Vietnamese partners for their trust and support to HE and HEI. Mr. Zou said the Cam Pha Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant was a high-quality power plant built for Vietnam with HE’s sincerity and quality. It not only enhanced the two counties’cooperation on the field of international economic and trade, but also promoted the friendship between the two countries. Mr. Zou also hoped a further cooperation with VINACOMIN to create a bright future for the development of both parties.

Vice minister of Ministry of Industry of Vietnam Mr. Le Duong Quang, vice governor of Quang Ninh province Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh and chairman of the board of VINACOMIN Mr. Tran Xuan Hoa also addressed the ceremony separately. They expressed their congratulations on HEI’s achievement on Cam Pha project and confirmed its contributions to Vietnam. They considered HEI’s execution on Cam Pha project as good quality, good cooperation, good schedule and good technology.

Finally, under the witness of both parties, the president of CPC Mr. Pham Dac Lam issued the Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) to the project supervisor of HEI Mr. Su Haihong.

The successful completion of Cam Pha Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant builds up a strong basis for HEI’s development in Vietnam electric market and provides back up for HEI is internationalization during the period of 12th Five-Year Plan. Under HEI’s strategy of conglomeration,informationization,internationalization,diversification; technology leading, management leading, talent leading; rebuild a new HEI, HEI will strengthen the market development in Vietnam, make itself known by more customers and grow to be a reliable partner worldwide.
