At 10:18 on June 23, 2013, Commencement Ceremony of Sudan River Nile State Transmission Project undertaken by HEI was held in the city of Abu Hamed, marking the formal start of the project’s implementation phase.
The Rive Nile State Transmission Project is an EPC contract signed between HEI and SETCO on January 11, 2011, which includes Atbara and six other substations along with 485km of 220kV transmission line. On November 27, 2012, under HEI’s persistent efforts, HEI and SETCO signed a new EPC contract for the Sudan River Nile State Transmission Project according to new contract scope. The Sudan River Nile State Transmission Project will take place in three geographical regions including one that is 300 km north of the eastern Sudanese city of Atbara, the looped network area of Sudanese capital Khartoum and the northern border town of Wadi in the direction of Egypt. Scope of the new contract includes design, equipment and material supply, civil work, erection , and commissioning for five new and two expansion of 220kV substations and 387km of 220kV double circuit transmission line. The project owner is SETCO. Time for completion of the contract is 24 months.
Mr. Qu Aimin, Secretary of Party Committee and Vice Chairman of HEI gave a speech.
Vice president of HEI Mr. Yang Qingli, Chief Project Officer Mr. Wang Jianjun and Commercial Counsellor of Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Sudan were invited to attend the Commencement Ceremony.
