HEI Signs Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Vestas for Domestic and Overseas Wind Farm Development Project

On October 12th, 2015, Harbin Electric International (HEI) and Vestas Wind Systems (China) Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing for the Domestic and Overseas Wind Farm Development Project. The signing ceremony was attended by Vice President of HEI Mr. Yang Qingli, Chief Project Officer of HEI Mr. Li Chao, CEO of Vestas Group Global Sales Mr. Hu An, President of the Vestas Group (China) Mr. Bo Fei, Senior Vice President of Global Operations Services Mr. Christian and Vice President of Sales of the Vestas Group (China) Mr. Liu Hang and their delegation.

During the ceremony, Vice President of HEI Mr. Yang Qingli gave a speech in which he stated that HEI is one of the leading enterprises in China’s outstanding power generation EPC contracting and mechanical and electrical equipment export, mainly engaged in the EPC of thermal power plants, hydropower stations, combined cycle power plant projects, power transmission lines and the complete equipment set business. With the rapid development of clean energy represented by wind power, HEI is keen to make more contributions to new energy power station construction and development and is anticipating cooperating with the Vestas Group, which plays a leading role in wind power generation, to explore new innovations together. CEO of Vestas Group Global Sales Mr. Hu An gave a brief history of the development of the Group and the opportunities and challenges in the field of wind power development. He also expressed his high expectations for collaborating on the joint development of domestic and overseas wind power generation with the world-leading EPC contractor HEI.

Vestas entered China’s market in 1986; by 2014, its total installed capacity exceeded 4480MW in over 15 provinces and cities. The Vestas Group’s largest integrated wind power equipment production base was established in Tianjin City.

This strategic cooperation framework agreement will strengthen cooperation in the domestic and overseas wind power market, enhance competitiveness in the field of wind power and promote mutual benefit and win-win results for HEI and Vestas.
