Recently, U.S.-based Engineering News-Record (ENR) officially released its 2026 ranking of the Top 250 International Contractors. Harbin Electric International (HEI) rose to 70th place globally, climbing 26 positions from the previous year. This significant leap demonstrates the company’s strong growth momentum in overseas operations, mature risk management system, and steadily increasing influence in the global engineering and construction industry.

This impressive ranking is underpinned by solid performance across HEI’s overseas projects. In 2025, the company continued to deepen its presence in key global markets and efficiently advanced the execution of a series of landmark international projects. Multiple critical project milestones were achieved successfully, many ahead of schedule. In the core Middle Eastern market, the Saudi Arabia Nairyah 2 and Rumah 2 combined-cycle power plant projects made efficient progress and achieved a succession of milestones. At Nairyah 2, foundation concrete pouring for the gas turbines and generators was completed ahead of schedule. At Rumah 2, the main structure of the central control building was topped out ahead of schedule. Through high-quality and efficient project execution, HEI is contributing to the energy transition envisioned under Saudi Vision 2030, while further consolidating its competitive advantage and strategic position in the Middle East.

In the Americas, the 350 MW Manzanillo Phase III Combined-Cycle Power Project in Mexico achieved several key milestones in succession, including the successful completion of backfeed energization and boiler steam blowing. As HEI’s first combined-cycle power project in the North American market, it has opened a new channel for the company to expand further into the Americas’ high-end power engineering sector and strengthen its global market presence.

In Central Asia, installation of the main steam turbine unit officially commenced at the 1,600 MW Sirdarya Phase II Combined-Cycle Power Plant Project in Uzbekistan. As one of Central Asia’s leading high-efficiency clean energy projects in terms of installed capacity, the plant will significantly enhance the reliability of the local power supply upon completion and become a flagship energy cooperation project under the Belt and Road Initiative.

With its lean project management capabilities and high-quality engineering delivery, HEI’s landmark overseas projects have repeatedly gained international recognition, receiving a number of industry honors, including the International Safety Awards and the Asian Power Awards. The company continues to strengthen its presence in key overseas markets—including the Middle East, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America—while steadily advancing localized operations.
