Harbin Electric Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “HEC”) is focusing on long-term development and achieving solid results in its main business areas.
HEC has always kept in mind the responsibilities and missions of a state-owned enterprise under the central government, and has firmly practiced the new energy security strategy of “Four Revolutions and One Cooperation.” The world's largest single-unit capacity 1,000 MW hydro-turbine generator unit, developed by HEC, was successfully put into operation at the Jinsha River Baihetan Hydropower Station; the world’s first fourth-generation nuclear power plant, Huaneng Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Plant, in which HEC participated in developing, showcases Chinese wisdom; the independently developed 660 MW high-efficiency ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) unit has generated over 2 billion kWh of electricity annually; the innovative upgrading and life extension renovation project of Panshan Power Plant, the first demonstration project of major technical equipment in the energy sector in which HEC participated, has extended the unit's design life by 30 years; all four units of the Dubai Hassyan Power Station, for which HEC was the EPC contractor, are now in full operation; the world's first 300 MW compressed air energy storage power station, in which HEC participated in construction, has been connected to the grid at full capacity; and the world's first independently developed MW-level compressed CO2 electrothermal energy storage pilot system has been selected as one of the “Top Ten Mega-Projects of Central SOEs for 2025”... HEC demonstrates its hardcore strength with one major national project after another.
Focusing on its primary responsibility and main business of equipment manufacturing, HEC has placed scientific and technological innovation at the center of its overall development, leading industrial innovation with scientific and technological innovation, and actively serving the construction of a modern industrial system. HEC has built a highly dynamic ecosystem for scientific and technological innovation, with R&D intensity maintained at over 5% for five consecutive years, and has been deeply involved in the construction of the Huairou Laboratory to jointly build a world-leading scientific research platform, achieving the engineering demonstration of the first unit of ultra-flexible and ultra-clean coal-fired power generation technology. HEC has comprehensively laid out over 100 key technological directions, built a number of world-leading R&D facilities such as the main helium circulator test rig for high-temperature gas-cooled reactors and the high-head impulse test system, and successfully conquered several key core technologies, including the world's largest single-unit capacity impulse turbine unit for the Datang Zhala Hydropower Station. With over 160 scientific and technological awards at or above the provincial and ministerial levels garnered during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, HEC’s drive toward high-level technological independence and excellence is rapidly becoming a reality.
