On November 10th, 2015, Pakistan Balloki 1223MW combined cycle power plant contracted by HEI held a commencement ceremony. The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab Province Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, Minister of the Pakistan Water and Electricity Department Mr. Asif, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate in Lahore Mr. Yu Boren, and Vice President and Secretary of the Party Committee of HEI Mr. Qu Aimin attended the commencement ceremony and gave important speeches.

At the commencement ceremony, Mr. Nawaz Sharif and Mr. Shahbaz Sharif each gave a speech in which they highly affirmed HE’s outstanding contributions to Pakistan’s electric power development over the years and they hope that HEI’s power plant projects will relieve or eliminate the power shortage conditions in Pakistan.

In his speech, Mr. Qu Aimin expressed that HEI’s very first overseas project was the Pakistan Guddu Project contracted in 1983. As of now, in Pakistan, HEI has successfully executed and completed nine power plant projects, including the UCH 586MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, Bin Qasim 560MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project and Guddu 747MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, of which the total installed capacity amounts to 3327MW. The Pakistan Federal Government and Punjab Government have recently developed three major projects, and by relying on its advanced technology and high quality services over the years, HEI has won full affirmation of the owners and successfully signed two major projects, the Bhikki 1180MW project and the Balloki 1223MW project. The completion of these two projects will further provide 2400MW of electricity power to Pakistan’s national grid, which will be able to relieve the shortage of power in Pakistan to a great extent. Mr. Qu Aimin further expressed that HEI would do its best to design and build an international first-class power plant and make contributions to the economic construction and development of Pakistan.
