On June 14, 2014, Mr. Guo Yu, Chairman of the Board of HEI, Mr. Walker, CEO of NBT Power Company Limited, HEI’s cooperative partner, and Mr. Walker’s team paid a visit to Mr. Qaim Ali Shah—Governor of Sindh Province in Karachi, Pakistan. Two parties conducted a conversation in respect to the Pakistan Thar Coalfield Project and 2X660MW Thar Coalfield Pit Power Plant Project. Mr. Murad Ali Shah, Energy and Financing Advisor of Sindh Province, Mr. Wasif Agha, Secretary of Energy Department in Sindh Province, and Mr. Alam Din Bhulloh, Full-time Private Secretary of Governor of Sindh Province were also present at the meeting.

During the conversation, Mr. Guo Yu gave a general introduction of HEI and promoted the technical and commercial plans for the development of the projects. Mr. Guo Yu also set forth the difficulties and crisis which may be encountered concerning the use of coal as the fuel in Thar coalfield and all coal-fired power plants being developed in Pakistan, from the perspective of Pakistan energy’s safety development in the future.

Mr. Qaim Ali Shah, Governor of Sindh Province, expressed his recognition of Mr. Guo Yu’s illustration about the safety development of Pakistan’s future energy and wished HEI success in this project.
