On August 22, 2014, International Business Daily published a special edition for Uzbekistan, extending a welcome to President Karimov of Uzbekistan to visit to China. HEI’s Angren Project also received high attention as a Feature.
International Business Daily published in its Uzbekistan special edition, pictures of the joint signing of documents between the two heads of state when President Xi Jinping had held a meeting with President Karimov of Uzbekistan in the People’s Great Hall. The speech addressed by the Ambassador Sun Lijie of China to Uzbekistan was given a feature article entitled “China and Uzbekistan are facing a historic opportunity in economy and trade cooperation” written by the Economic and Commercial Counsellor, Wang Kaixuan of China’s Embassy to Uzbekistan, was published along with a special report entitled “Harbin Electric International Company: Providing power for the world, Bringing the light for mankind”. The special report for HEI introduced the development situation, technical strength and international business performance achieved by HEI and the Uzbekistan Agren Project.
Uzbekistan Agren Project is one of the major international projects in Uzbekistan and acts as another representative project demonstrating HEI’s successful integration into the central-eastern market. On September 21, 2012, witnessed by Vice Premier Hui Liangyu of China, Chairman Guo Yu of HEI and President Teshabaev of Uzbekistan Energy Company signed the EPC Contract Agreement for Agren 1X150 MW Coal Fired Power Plant Project totaling in 226 million US dollars. On September 26, 2012, the two parties had officially signed all the contract documents and the contract has been officially in effect since December 31, 2013. For better execution of the project, HEI has set up permanent establishment and Tashkent commercial office in Uzbekistan. Adhering to the principles of providing power for the world and bringing light for mankind, HEI is determined to build the Agren Project as a bright star in the New Silk Road, so as to demonstrate to Uzbekistan and Central Asia, the strength of HEI as China’s major power company.
According to information, at present, there are 482 companies investing in Uzbekistan including 78 proprietorships and 74 representative offices. The high attention on HEI is of great importance to HEI’s expansion in the Uzbekistani market.
