From November 15th to 19th, 2016, HEI President Qu Aimin visited the sites of the EXTRA HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS AT 500 KV AND ASSOCIATED WORKS AT 230 KV Project and Minas Hydropower Project in Ecuador, and was invited as a representative of Chinese enterprises and attended the welcome banquet hosted by Ecuador President Correa for Chinese President Xi Jinping on Nov. 17 to18. President Xi met with Mr. Qu at the dinner.

On November 18th, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ecuador President Correa jointly pushed the button which marked the official completion and the starting of power generation of the CCS Hydropower Station. The power will be transmitted all around Ecuador through the HEI-contracted EXTRA HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS AT 500 KV AND ASSOCIATED WORKS AT 230 KV Project which is creating as the‘Power Artery’ of the country. The 500Kv Project is starting from the primitive Amazon Rainforest and passing through the Andes to the coast of the Pacific Ocean, it has extremely complicated working conditions and high construction requirements. It has received close attention and high praise from all sectors of Ecuador.

During the stay in Ecuador, Qu Aimin visited the sites of the EXTRA HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS AT 500 KV AND ASSOCIATED WORKS AT 230 KV Project and Minas Hydropower Project for inspection and guidance the site work. Mr. Qu also paid a visit to Ecuador Electricity Minister Mr. Medardo Cadrna, CELEC General Manager Mr. Luis Rulisand Ecuador Electric Corporation General Manager Mr. Gevonny Pardore spectively. During the visits, Qu Aimin expressed his thanks to Mr. Medardo Cadrna, Mr.Luis Rulis and Mr. Gevonny Pardo for the support and help they have given to HEI in its construction of the EXTRA HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS AT 500 KV AND ASSOCIATED WORKS AT 230 KV Project, Minas Hydropower Project and Esmeraldas Phase II Thermal electric Project, and reported the latest progress of the 500kV EHV Project and Minas Project. Qu Aimin stated that HEI will surely make greater efforts to complete the construction of the projects successfully on the premise of guaranteeing project quality and meeting the requirements of the employers, thereby benefiting the people of Ecuador and making further contributions to the friendship between both countries.

The Electric Power Minister and CELEC General Manager praised HEI’s efforts and contributions invested in the 500kV EHV Project, and also given fully affirmation for HEI’s work quality and achievements, and expressed they will continue to give their support to HEI’s work as always.
